What we do
ASU – in its facility of more than 3,000 square metres – offers a wide range of activities for all ages: from female and male artistic gymnastics, to rhythmic gymnastics, through swordplay and foil, without forgetting parkour.
For the very young there are play-gymnastics (from 2 to 6 years) and play-fencing (from 4 to 6 years) while for adults, in addition to speciality courses, fitness and soft gymnastics courses. At the Associazione Sportiva Udinese it is also possible to attend AFA (Adapted Physical Activity) courses, organized in collaboration with AsuiUd, as well as personalized courses dedicated to people with motor disabilities (even severe ones).
For many years, ASU has been well known in the community for promoting integrated sport activities and offers summer activities for children aged 3 to 14.
Intenational Rhythmic Academy
Recognized internationally, the rhythm section of the ASU hosts on a permanent basis (but also for short periods) athletes from abroad who have come to Udine to train and improve their technique. The company assists the family in relocation, accommodation, and bureaucratic documentation.
International Internships
For some seasons the ASU has also been organizing internships (for all competitions) coordinated by its technicians and aimed at athletes from all over the world. An activity that is enjoying increasing success thanks to the proven professionalism of its technicians.
Sports since 1875
The first nucleus of the Associazione Sportiva Udinese was created in 1875, but it was from the 8th of May 1919, at the end of the great war, that the establishment of a sports club was decided. The meeting of all the sports associations present in Udine before the conflict allowed the resumption of sports activities after the war. It was decided to merge the other Udine sports activities into the gymnastics and fencing club, giving life to the Associazione Sportiva Udinese, which immediately became the banner of all city sports activities. Thanks to this, generations of people from Udine have been able to take up sports and contribute to more than a century of history of Friulian sport.
How to get there
BY PLANE
If you arrive by plane, the nearest airport is Ronchi dei Legionari (https://triesteairport.it), not far from Treviso (www.trevisoairport.it) and Venice. (www.veniceairport.it). From the airport, you can easily arrive at ASU by car or train.
BY TRAIN
If you use the train you will have to get off at Udine railway station (both with Fs and with Italo). To find the best time for your trip, search on www.trenitalia.com, for Fs, e on www.italotreno.it, for Italo.
BY CAR
Easily accessible by car, we are located close to the ring road and the A23 motorway. If you decide to arrive by car, from the A23 motorway, it is advisable to exit at Udine Sud, then take the ring road heading north and exit towards the “Friuli Stadium” (about a kilometer away, as the crow flies, from ASU).
BY BUS
If you have arrived by train, you will see the bus station just outside the train station. Cross the street and wait there for bus line 5 (direction Passons) or number 10. However, we recommend that you always ask the driver for information before getting on. There may have been variations from our indications, of which we are not aware. In any case, whether you choose line 5 or 10 you will have to walk a short distance (about 5 minutes). If you choose line 5, get off at the “via Martignacco 162” stop, then continue on foot. With your back to the stop, go right. After a short distance, you will find yourself at a large intersection (via Lombardia), Turn right. Continue for about 500 meters on via Lombardia. On the left you will see the street via Lodi. Cross the road and take via Lodi to the end. When you are near the end, you will find our location on the left. If you choose line 10, get off at the “Lombardia front civic 2” stop. In this case you will already find yourself on via Lombardia. With your back to the stop, walk a few meters to the left and you will find via Lodi on the right. Cross the road and take via Lodi to the end. When you are near the end, you will find our location on the left. To find out the updated bus timetables, go to Google and search for “line 5 Udine” (same thing for line 10). The first link that the search engine will provide you will be the “Arriva Udine” timetables (https://www.arrivaudine.it). “Arriva Udine” is the company for public transport in Udine.
